Is smoking allowed at the Wild Hearts Fun Run Superhero 5K?

This event is smoke-free.

How long is theWild Hearts Fun Run Superhero 5K?

The Kids Super Sprint is 100 yards and the 5K is 3.1 miles.

Will I get a race t-shirt?

Yes, participants that pre-register by June 1st, 2017 are guaranteed an official Wild Hearts Fun Run Superher0 5k race t-shirt. Participants who register after this date will get a t-shirt on a first-come-first-serve basis.

What constitutes a team?

A team must have at least 5 pre-registered 5k participants. Kids Super Sprint racers do not count towards a team.

Do teams qualify for a registration discount?

Yes, each person on your team will qualify for a 15% discount, which will be applied when registering online.  All team captains need to contact info@wildheartsfunrun.com to get a team coupon code.

Is there a team registration deadline?

Yes, the deadline to setup your team is June 4th, 2017.

How do I make a team fundraising site through Crowdrise?

At the end of the online registration process you have the option to join a fundraising team on Crowdrise or make your own.  After completing registration payment you have the option to share your fundraising page through social media or email link.

Can I pick up my race packet before race day?

Yes, packet pickup will be at Zaxby’s in Georgetown, Ky on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5pm-8pm and at Zaxby’s on Redding Road on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 1pm-7pm.

Where should I park on race day?

There will be free parking available at Keeneland and will be marked as you enter.

Can I bike or rollerblade?

Bikes and rollerblades are not permitted.

Can I push a stroller?

Yes! The Wild Hearts Fun Run is a family friendly event.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! While you’re at it, enter them into our Wonder Pet Costume Contest!  All pets must be leashed.

What if it rains the day of the event?

Rain or shine, there will be a race! In the event of severe weather we will notify participants with any changes via email.

Are there volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups?

Yes!  We are always looking for volunteers to help on race day!!  Contact info@wildheartsfunrun.com for more information. If your group is interested in volunteering, please email Race Director Britney Howard.

Where do my donations go?

Kerrington’s Heart is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides support to children affected by heart disease and their families.  We strive to assist patients and families through each step in their journey of dealing with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD).  We offer comfort packages, Certificates of Bravery, educational support, and financial assistance to families in need of meals, fuel and lodging. Since its inception just a few years ago, Kerrington’s Heart has provided nearly $50,000 in direct support to Central Kentucky families affected by CHD.

Thank you again for helping us support Kentucky families.  Your donations and support have brought smiles to many children’s faces, and have allowed parents to witness their children enjoying things they never thought possible!

What is the deadline for registration?

You can register online as an individual until the day before the race.  Day of registration will be open from 6:30-8:30 a.m. at Keeneland.  Team registration must be completed by June 4, 2017 at 11:59pm.

I can no longer participate.  May I transfer my registration to someone else?

You may transfer your registration until June 1, 2017. Contact info@wildheartsfunrun.com if you need to transfer your race bib.

Do I have to collect donations in order to participate?

Everyone that donates $100.00 or more will receive our superhero glass collectors cup.

What is the deadline for sending donations?

Is my registration tax-deductible?

Registration fees are not tax deductible. Any amount given above the registration fee is considered a tax deductible donation.

How do I get a receipt for my taxes for my donation?

Donations of $250.00 or more will receive a receipt in the mail. Donations of less than $250.00 will be substantiated by your bank records. Please retain your record of contributions for tax purposes.

Can I send in cash donations?

We prefer check or credit card donations.
